How it Works

Fixed chain actuators function as rack and pinion linear actuators using articulated racks. Rigid chain actuators typically use limited articulation chains similar to roller chains. It works by engaging a pinion mounted on the drive shaft within the housing. The links of the working members, the "stationary chains", are connected in such a way that they are deflected only on one side in a straight line.
